Rewiring and New Installations
Older Jamaican houses were wired for a fraction of the load a modern household puts on them. Add two air conditioners, a water heater, a microwave and a dozen chargers and the original circuits are working far harder than they were designed to.
We assess the existing installation, calculate the real load, and either upgrade the panel and add dedicated circuits or plan a staged rewire that spreads the cost. Everything is properly rated, properly earthed and clearly labelled at the panel.
Generators, Inverters and Backup Power
Lock-offs and storm outages make backup power a practical necessity rather than a luxury. We wire in standby generators with a proper changeover switch so there is no risk of back-feeding the grid — which is both illegal and dangerous to line workers.
For inverter and battery systems we run the DC and AC sides correctly, size the cabling for the actual current, and set up the critical-loads sub-panel so your fridge, lights and fans stay on when the power goes.
Lighting and Fixtures
Interior lighting, outdoor security lighting, floodlights, garden and pool lighting, ceiling fans and chandeliers. We handle the mounting properly — heavy fixtures get fixed to structure, not to a ceiling board that will let go in a year.
Common Questions
Is your electrical work done to standard?
Yes. All installations follow accepted wiring practice with correct cable sizing, earthing and breaker rating. Where a job requires an inspection or a certificate for a JPS connection, we tell you upfront what is involved.
My breaker keeps tripping — is that serious?
It can be. A breaker tripping is it doing its job, but repeated tripping means something is genuinely wrong — an overloaded circuit, a failing appliance or a fault in the wiring. Do not just keep resetting it. Have it diagnosed.
Can you wire my house for a generator?
Yes. We install the changeover switch, the generator inlet and the sub-panel for the circuits you want backed up. We will also advise on sizing so you are not buying more generator than you need.
